FIRE WIRE MARINE’S INSULATED CUTTING ROD IS THE ROD OF CHOICE FOR THE MAJORITY OF COMMERCIAL DIVING/UNDERWATER
CUTTING PROJECTS.
FIRE-KOTE
OUR PROPRIETARY HIGH DIELECTRIC INSULATION, DESIGNATED “FIRE-KOTE”, IS AN EXTREMELY TOUGH
MATERIAL APPLIED TO THE ROD BODY. THIS COATING AFFORDS MAXIMUM DIVER PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTRIC
SHOCK. THE COLOR CHOICE OF OUR FIRE-KOTE INSULATION IS NO ACCIDENT, EITHER. THE BOLD YELLOW MAKES FOR
BETTER VISIBILITY, MINIMIZING THE CHANCE OF LOSING RODS IN LOW VISIBILITY ENVIRONMENTS.
FIRE-KOTE IS LABORATORY CERTIFIED TO WITHSTAND OVER 1,000 HOURS OF CONTINUOUS SALT SPRAY AND GUARANTEES THAT THE ROD’S EXTERIOR WILL BE PROTECTED FROM ABRASIONS, SALT WATER OR MOST HARSH CHEMICALS INDEFINITELY. THIS COATING HAS A VERY HIGH BURNING POINT AND WILL RETAIN ITS INSULATING PROPERTIES VERY NEAR THE FLAME.
WHEN BURNED, FIRE-KOTE CONVERTS TO AN ASH, LEAVING NO “STREAMERS” OR “TAILS” OF INSULATION IN THE WATER, AS ARE LEFT BY ORDINARY RODS.
END CAPS
THE END CAPS SUPPLIED ON EVERY FIRE WIRE MARINE UNDERWATER CUTTING ROD PREVENT MOISTURE AND DEBRIS FROM ENTERING AND CONTAMINATING THE FUEL RODS. THE CAP ON THE ROD HOLDER END IS A RED PULL-TAB CAP THAT IS EASILY REMOVED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE INSERTION INTO THE HOLDER. THIS CAP PROTECTS THE COLLET CONTACT SURFACE, ENSURING THAT THE TORCH ALWAYS MAKES A CLEAN CONNECTION WITH THE ROD. THE YELLOW CAP ON THE BURNING END ASSURES POSITIVE IGNITION AND IS EJECTED WITH THE FIRST BURST OF OXYGEN. AS LONG AS THESE CAPS REMAIN IN PLACE, THE ROD IS PROTECTED FROM THE ELEMENTS. ANY RODS TAKEN TO THE JOB SITE AND RETURNED TO THE TENDER WITH THE CAPS INTACT CAN BE USED ON THE NEXT JOB WITHOUT BRUSHING OR RODDING OUT THE INSIDE.
NO MORE RODS DISCARDED BECAUSE OF CORROSION!
OUR INSULATED RODS ARE AVAILABLE IN 1/4- AND 3/8-INCH DIAMETERS AND LENGTHS OF 18
AND 36 INCHES.
